Civil Service Examination for Police Officer

LATERAL ENTRY EXAMINATION
POLICE DISPATCHER
The City of Ontario will conduct a Lateral Entry Examination for the position Police Dispatcher. The examination will begin with an Oral Board Interview which will be scheduled once all the applications are received by Civil Service.
Candidates must be U.S. citizens and present a valid driver’s license at the time of the Interview. Candidates will be subject to psychological, polygraph, drug and alcohol screening along with a comprehensive background check. Must be at least 18 years of age, must be currently employed as a Police Dispatcher with a minimum of 1 year of service and possess a high school diploma or GED equivalence. Pay ranges for 2023 are between $24.18 - $27.50 dependent on exact prior years of service.

Applications will be available at the Ontario Municipal Building, 555 Stumbo Road, beginning April 13, 2023, at the Police Department window or online at www.ontpd.com.
