The Ontario Police Department is governed by a structure created and maintained by the Ontario Civil Service Commission. The Mayor appoints three persons, who constitute the Commission. It is the responsibility of the Commission to prescribe, amend and enforce rules consistent with Chapter 124 or the ORC. It is the responsibility of the Commission to administer both entry level and promotional tests for police and dispatching positions.
