A joint agreement between Ontario Schools and the City of Ontario has placed a School Resource Officer (SRO) in the district's buildings.
SRO duties will include, but not limited to:
Providing a positive influence on school campuses.
Working in partnerships with teachers, administrators, students and parents to reduce and prevent crime and violence in the school setting.
Promote a greater understanding of the laws and youth citizenship.
Bring knowledge and experience to the school community that helps youth make positive choices that affect their future.
Solves problems with students, staff and parents.
Planning for personal safety and security on school campus.
Mentors students through classroom activities and daily interaction.
